PyloriTek product is widely used in GI centers to assist in the diagnosis of H. pylori infections, the most common cause of gastric ulcers. Each PyloriTek test can test up to 3 biopsies from one patient, includes a built-in positive control, and provides accurate results (96% sensitivity, 97% specificity). Results are available within one hour. Other H. pylori testing options require a separate test for each biopsy plus an additional test for a control. This increases cost of testing and affects reimbursement rates.
